WATCH: 3 Smash Through Glass Door in Gardena Pharmacy Burglary

Authorities are searching for three burglars who were caught on camera smashing the glass door of a pharmacy early Thursday morning in what owners say is the third break-in at the Gardena business.

The break-in occurred just before 1 a.m. according to surveillance video at Meiji Pharmacy in the 1600 block of Redondo Beach Boulevard, the owner Cliff Yamashita said.

In the video, three burglars, wearing dark-colored sweatshirts, gloves and backpacks, can be seen kicking their way through a glass door, standing on top of display cases and rummaging through the place. The trio was in the business for about a minute before running out.

Yamashita says he thinks the burglars were searching for prescription cough syrup that contains codeine. But after being of a victim of two other break-ins and a robbery in the last six months, the owner says he locked up the cough syrup and the culprits were not able to get to it.

It is unclear if the burglars got away with anything or if the previous incidents at the pharmacy were connected.

Gardena Police were investigating the incident they call a "crime trend" that has increased in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
