12 Rescued From Boat Taking on Water in Marina del Rey

Twelve people were rescued from a 30-foot-long power boat off the coast of Marina del Rey Sunday after the vessel began taking on large amounts of water.

A distress call came in near the El Segundo Jetty around 5 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Rescue crews were working hard to tow in the vessel, which was almost filled to the brim with water, back to the marina.

The rescued passengers were not injured, and were seen standing dripping wet and wrapped in towels at the dock.

No one was taken to the hospital in the rescue.
