We’re Gushing Over Santa Clarita’s New Baby Gibbon

The little girl, a "critically endangered northern white-cheeked gibbon," is winning hearts at the Gibbon Conservation Center.

The baby's mother is Astriks and the bambino's father is Pierre. The center reports that "... mom and baby are doing well."

The center has been tirelessly working on behalf of the worldwide gibbon population since 1976, when it was founded by Alan Richard Mootnick. Today, it is "... the only institution in the world to house and breed all four genera of gibbon."

You can "ohhhh" over this sweet baby, and all of the gorgeous gibbons, each Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Clarita-based property. The hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon and the fee is $15 per adult, $10 seniors, $12 students and teens, and $5 kids 5-12. Tots under age 5 may enter for free.
