West Hollywood Shooting, Robbery Linked to Suspect in Monthlong Crime Spree

Police were investigating an armed robbery and shooting in West Hollywood believed to be linked to Artyom Gasparyan, a man accused of going on a monthlong violent crime spree, authorities said Monday.

An armed robbery and shooting occurred in the 1000 block of North Kings Road on Dec. 29 when a delivery driver was shot.

West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department was investigating the crime, and details were not immediately available.

Authorities named Gasparyan as a suspect, and said he was considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities linked Gasparyan to a series of violent crimes, including murder, robbery, carjacking and attempted murder that began Dec. 6 in the city of Burbank

Police said he was on the loose after leading police in a carjacking pursuit on New Year's Day where he or his accomplice Daniel Ramirez fired shots at another car. Gasparyan then jumped from the car into a silver Passat and wasn't seen again until Monday, police said.

Gasparyan was taken into custody after a police chase ensued in Sun Valley on Monday.
