A man charged in connection with a road rage incident near UCLA Monday is the same man who led police on a bizarre pursuit through Los Angeles, doing donuts on Hollywood Boulevard and hitting at least one car last month.
Herschel Reynolds, 20, is facing assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor hit-and-run changes.
He was allegedly on a Suzuki motorcycle when he rear-ended an SUV on April 16 on Strathmore Drive just past Young Drive West. UC police said Reynolds tried to stop the SUV driver from calling 911 by hitting him with the bike and knocking him to the ground.
He then reportedly drove away. He was later arrested at his South Los Angeles home, police said.
In the first incident, two men in a rented Mustang convertible led officers on a wild chase in the drizzling rain, doing donuts on Hollywood Boulevard, fishtailing through Laurel Canyon and even almost getting blocked by a TMZ tour bus on the 101 Freeway.
Reynolds was accused of being behind the wheel. The chase reportedly started because the two were suspected of a home break-in.
Reynolds was recently prematurely discharged from the Marine Corps, where he served as a specially trained motor vehicle operator at Camp Pendleton.

Reynolds was out of jail on bail in the earlier incident when the motorcycle incident at UCLA allegedly happened.
He is due in court May 10 on the pursuit charges. He is currently behind bars on $75,000 bail in the motorcycle hit and run case.
