An elderly couple was injured after masked burglars broke into their Los Feliz home early Saturday, demanding the contents of their safe.
The woman, who is in her 70s, said she was dragged through her house after she and her husband were awakened by burglars in their own bedroom.
"When the masked person came in the room and started trying to get me up, I thought, 'This has got to be your worst nightmare,'" the woman said.
She suffered visible cuts to her arms and a bruise above her brow. Her husband, who has trouble getting out of bed, also suffered injuries to his arm when the intruders tried to take his watch, she said.
The woman said the burglars may be people who have worked in her home before.
The robbers, she said, knew to break in through the house's dog door and had an idea of where the safe was.
She did not know the code for the safe, so the intruders were not able to make away with it, but they did take a television from the kitchen, the woman said.

Over the past several decades, the couple has been burglarized five times, but never while they were inside their house, the woman said.
The homeowner said she feels frustrated because she feels that she and her husband are being targeted because of their house and because they are senior citizens.
