Erratic Driver Crashes Into Cars, Van Lands on Malibu Beach

A white van was seen driving on Pacific Coast Highway at 85 miles per hour with a flat tire, slamming against parked cars near the highway, according to officials.

A driver crashed into more than 10 vehicles Thursday night along Pacific Coast Highway before crashing a van off a cliff and overturning onto a Malibu beach.

At approximately 11 p.m., the white van was seen on PCH traveling at about 85 mph hour with a flat tire, slamming against parked cars near the highway in the Pepperdine University area, according to officials.

According to Sgt. Fray Lupian of the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, officials located the van in the ocean just north of the crash site. The vehicle was unoccupied but the driver was later found hiding among rocks.

An estimated five to six tow trucks removed the van from the shore.

The driver, found hiding among rocks on the beach, suffered a broken ankle and internal bleeding, according to authorities. Another driver was hospitalized with injuries, but details about the victim's condition were not immediately available.

The driver is expected to be charged for a number of crimes, including a felony hit-and-run.
