Glendale police Monday sought tips from the public in hopes of tracking down a 28-year-old man who allegedly attacked his fiance and her mother, seriously injuring both.
The attack was reported at 4:15 a.m. Friday inside an apartment in the 600 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to Glendale police. Officers found a 25-year-old woman who had been struck in the face and head several times with a hammer, police reported.
The woman's mother tried to intervene and was also attacked, investigators said. The younger woman was left in critical condition and her mother in serious condition. Both are expected to survive, according to Glendale police Sgt. Ernesto Gaxiola. Police are looking for the woman's fiance, identified as Brian Cruz, Gaxiola said.
The suspect -- described as Hispanic, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes -- allegedly fled the scene in a black GMC Denali Sierra pickup truck with black and yellow California plates, license number BCG1129, police said.
