A man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend and another man at a Winnetka apartment over the weekend was arrested Tuesday morning, police said.
Brian Anthony Gonzalez was taken into custody just before 9:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was on a bus headed south from Los Angeles.
Police said an apparent domestic dispute Sunday led to the killings of 22-year-old Emily Ana Fox and 24-year-old Jerrad Cardae Scott.
Family and friends said Scott, of La Mesa, was a father to a young boy. A neighbor said Fox was a student at Cal State Northridge.
A neighbor of Fox said she was relieved to hear about the arrest.
"Knowing that he's caught is such a relief," said Lisa Lyons. She said she heard screams Sunday afternoon and called police.
"The next thing we heard about eight shots in rapid succession," she recalled.

Lyons said Gonzalez and Fox had been a couple and had recently broken up. Gonzalez had arrived at the apartment to pick up some of his belongings when the fight broke out.
Scott was described as a friend of Fox, who just happened to stop by to say hello.
"He was in the wrong place at the wrong time," she said.
