A 31-year-old man was charged Friday with abducting and sexually assaulting a girl in Irvine.
Hamid Adam Amani pleaded not guilty Friday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
He is charged with kidnapping to commit a sex offense, assault of a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense, two counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and a count of lewd acts on a child, all felonies, according to court records.
Amani was ordered to return to court for a pretrial hearing Sept. 24 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
The girl was abducted on Tuesday, but two of the alleged sex offenses happened on Jan. 1 of this year, according to court records.
A spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney's Office did not immediately have any details on the allegations.
