A multi-agency Southern California law enforcement task force has made an arrest in an alleged heroin delivery service.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department says a driver was arrested Thursday in Port Hueneme as he was walking to his car to begin deliveries to his customers.
The department says search warrants executed on his two cars and residence found about 1,000 doses of heroin and drug proceeds.
The investigation began earlier this year when detectives learned that a heroin delivery service named "The Boys" was operating in western Ventura County, receiving thousands of calls a month from customers.
The investigation is continuing to look into the person who directed the criminal activity. The Sheriff's Department says that person is identified and is operating from Mexico.
