Man Robs Woman at Gunpoint in Glendale

Detectives asked for public assistance Tuesday to identify a man who robbed a 55-year-old woman at gunpoint in Glendale.

The robbery took place the night of June 26 while the victim was parking her car in the 300 block of Salem Street, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

As the woman left her car she was confronted by the robber, who pulled a gun on her. The man then demanded the victim's purse and pulled it from her. The suspect then ran to a parked car and fled the scene, William said.

Officials are experiencing difficulty identifying the armed robber, so they are hoping newly released footage will help someone else recognize him.

The suspect was apparently white, between 19 and 25 years old, and about 5-feet-10 inches tall with a thin build. He also had a light beard, William said.

His getaway car was described as a white, 2006 to 2011 Lexus GS300 or GS350 with possible damage to the right rear passenger door, William added.

Anyone with information on this suspect's identity was asked to call Glendale police at (818) 548-4911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
