A man was wounded during a carjacking Monday night in South Los Angeles after the thief shot him, police said.
The carjacking was reported around 8:43 p.m. in the 1800 block of Manchester Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the thief approached the victim and brandished a handgun before demanding the car keys. The man was then shot and the gunman drove away in the victim's car, which was described as a gray Volkswagen.
The victim suffered one gunshot wound, and was in stable condition Monday night, according to the LAPD.
A description of the gunman was not immediately available.
