Man Sought in Armed Robbery at Claremont College

Police are seeking a man who attempted to rob two Claremont College students Thursday night.

Two students from the Keck Insitute were walking on campus before midnight when they were approached by a man with a knife who demanded money, police said.

The students immediately ran away in different directions. The assailant chased one of the students east on Watson Drive and then south on Bucknell Avenue, authorities said.

The attacker did not take any money or property from the students, police said.

He was described as a black man, between 20 and 35 years old, around 5 foot and 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black mask or scarf covering some of his face, a white hooded sweatshirt and black gloves.

He was last seen running south and then walking west on Arrow Highway.
