Man Sought in Attempted Kidnapping of 13-Year-Old Boy: Police

Police are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a 13-year-old boy in Ontario Friday night.

The boy was walking to a relative's house about 11 p.m. when a man hiding behind bushes jumped out and grabbed him in the 900 block of North Berlyn Avenue, according to the Ontario Police Department.

The victim was able to fend off the attacker and run away. The man was last seen running westbound on Plaza Serena Street, police said.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 30 years of age, 5-feet 7-inches tall, with a shaved head and a tattoo on his temple. The tattoo is possibly of the letters LA or LS, according to police.

The attacker was wearing a gray short sleeved shirt with black stripes on the sleeves, black jeans and black tennis shoes.

On Wednesday, a 10-year-old girl managed to get away from her attacker who police say tried to drag her away from a park in Buena Park. Police are still searching for the suspect in that incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sean Harden at 909-395-2796.
