Man Found Shot in Laundromat

A man who worked at a South Los Angeles laundromat was found dead at the business early Saturday morning.

Paramedics were dispatched at 12:21 a.m. to the 7300 block of South Figueroa Street on a report of a person down, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim's body was found around midnight by an employee who lived on the premises, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Eric Crosson said.

The victim was identified as Darren Clark, 55, a longtime manager at the laundromat.

The laundromat was supposed to have closed at 10 p.m., he said.

Robbery was being investigated as a possible motive for the killing, according to reports from the scene.
