Man With Hammer Arrested for Attempted Robbery

A man who attempted to rob a delivery man he then attacked with a hammer in Los Angeles was arrested Tuesday, police said.

A delivery man said he was suddenly hit in the skull after he refused to hand over his parcels to the attacker in Downtown LA.

Witness spotted the attacker and pointed him out to security guards in Los Angeles' Fashion District, who followed him until police arrived, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was arrested on Stanford Avenue and Ninth Street, and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said.

Police are investigating whether the suspect arrested Tuesday is the same man wanted in a series of hammer attacks that happened this year in Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles.
