Police were investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a Seal Beach flood control channel Monday afternoon.
A truck driver discovered the body face down in the channel just west of Bolsa Chica Road about noon, officials with the Seal Beach Police Department said.
Investigators said the death appeared suspicious. The body had signs of trauma, leading them to believe the man did not die of natural causes.
The body was identified as an Asian man about 40 to 50 years old. He was wearing a shirt and shorts.
Police were scouring the surrounding area for clues.
