Metro Buses and Rail Service Free on Christmas Eve Night, Christmas

Government offices, courts, schools, libraries, banks and post offices will be closed on Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day.

Trash collection by crews in Los Angeles will be postponed by one day, according to the city Bureau of Sanitation.

Metered parking restrictions in the city will also be lifted for the Dec. 25 holiday.

Metro buses, trains and subways will be on a Sunday schedule. Specific schedules for bus lines can be found at www.metro.net.

On Monday night, no fares will be charged on all Metro bus and rail lines starting at 9 p.m. and continuing until 2 a.m. Tuesday. All Metro Rail Line stations with faregates will be unlatched and fareboxes and validators will not deduct fare.
