Service on the first extension to the Metrolink Antelope Valley line since it was built in 1994 is scheduled to begin next month, providing four additonal Riverside County stations.
Metrolink 91/Perris Valley Line service will begin June 6 with stations at Riverside-Hunter Park/UCR, Moreno Valley/March Field, Perris-Downtown and Perris-South.
"We are very excited the residents of the Perris Valley will soon be able to board Metrolink stations in their community and reach areas through Southern California," said Metrolink Board Vice-Chair Daryl Busch, who is also the mayor of the city of Perris and a member of the Riverside County Transportation Commission. "Metrolink and RCTC staff has worked incredibly hard to make this concept a reality."
The agency is offering discouted fares for the opening. Riders will receive a $10 promotional round-trip fare when traveling within Riverside County and 10-percent discount on tickets starting at one of the new stations and traveling outside of Riverside County.
