Person Dies After Car Plunges Into San Gabriel Reservoir

One person was killed Tuesday when a car crashed down an embankment and plunged into the Morris Reservoir north of San Gabriel.

The crash was reported about 10:30 a.m. near the 9500 block of North San Gabriel Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Information was not immediately available on the identity or gender of the fatally injured person, who died at the scene.

A dive team searched the water and determined by early afternoon that there were no other victims, according to the fire department reported. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
