1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Redondo Beach

One person was killed when two vehicles collided near a gas station in Redondo Beach on Saturday, officials said.

"When they both collided, they both spun in a circle," Joseph Figueoa, who witnessed the crash, said.

Surveillance footage captured the violent wreck that occurred just before 9 a.m. near the intersection of Artesia and Aviation boulevards.

Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles collide at the intersection, forcing one of the vehicles into a traffic signal pole, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

A driver involved in the crash was ejected from his car and died as a result of the injuries, police said. His white Acura was reduced to a pile of twisted metal.

The driver of the other vehicle did not suffer any significant injuries, and investigators say he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The collision is under investigation.
