A naked man possibly under the influence of drugs was arrested for allegedly hugging a 13-year-old girl in the backyard of a South Gate home after she went outside to see why her dogs were barking, police said Thursday.

Gerardo Carrillo, 28, of Los Angeles was taken into custody about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the 3300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, according to South Gate Police Sgt. Ismael Ververa and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Carrillo was booked on suspicion of various crimes, including indecent exposure and false imprisonment, Ververa said. He was being held on $100,000 bail, according to the sheriff's department.

Before officers got to there, the man allegedly disrobed and went to the backyard, where dogs began barking and the girl went outside, where he hugged her, Ververa said. Adults at the location heard the teen screaming for help and detained the man until police arrived and arrested him, Ververa said.
