A student reportedly fired a gun at a Washington state high school Monday morning, but a teacher tackled him before anyone was injured, NBC News reported. The student, a 16-year-old male, fired of North Thurston High School around 7:30 a.m. local time, witnesses and police told NBC affiliate KING. Teacher Brady Olson then tackled the teen, witnesses said, and Lacey police apprehended the student around 8 a.m. ET, police said on Twitter. "I think it's heroic," Lacey Police Commander Chris Ward told KING. "In this case, it probably prevented worse things from happening." But Olson, a government teacher, said in a statement that he simply "reacted in a way that any other teacher would react and at the sound of a gunshot."
