Miami Woman Claims UPS Worker Kicked Her Out for Only Speaking Spanish

What to Know

  • Rebecca Prinstein recorded the employee asking her to leave to the store
  • Her husband shared the video on Facebook, which included profanity from the employee

A South Florida woman claims a local UPS store employee kicked her out for only speaking Spanish.

The incident allegedly happened at a branch in Miami along Southwest 104th Street.

Rebecca Prinstein recorded the employee asking her to leave to the store. Her husband shared the video on Facebook, which included profanity from the employee.

What the video doesn't show are the moments leading up to the incident. However, Prinstein claims the employee was kicking her out because she only spoke Spanish.

UPS has since released a statement apologizing for the incident.

"All of The UPS Store franchises are independently owned and operated locations, and each franchisee is responsible for hiring their own employees in accordance with state laws and regulations," the statement read. "The UPS Store, Inc. is an equal opportunity organization and we value diversity."

The company says it's investigating the situation.
