Puppy Rescued After Weeks Alone in the Woods of Maine

Officials say he was on the verge of starvation

One lucky puppy in Maine is home safe after surviving weeks in the woods following a terrifying car crash.

Tucker, a 7-month-old lab, was thrown from a car earlier this month when his owner, 20-year-old Shanya Pottle, was seriously hurt in a crash, according to the Morning Sentinel. He survived more than three weeks in the woods of East Madison.

Volunteers from Maine Lost Dog Recovery set a live trap for Tucker.

He was rescued Friday. Officials say he was on the verge of starvation.

Officials tell the Morning Sentinel criminal charges are unlikely in the case.
