Virginia Teen Arrested for Killing 2 Counselors: Police

A 19-year-old Virginia man has been arrested and charged in connection to the deaths of two women who counseled young adults in Prince William County, police say.

Prince William County police arrested Ronald Francis Dorsey, of Woodbridge, for the deaths of Erica Janelle Hickson, 37, and Lizeth Yadira Lopez, 36.

Hickson and Lopez worked for Youth Quest Independent Living in the 12300 block of Pond Run Drive in Woodbridge.

Dorsey was enrolled in the program where both women were counselors and police said he knew both women.

Staff members at the complex reported Hickson went missing at some point during her shift during the early morning hours on Friday, police said.

Police found her body Friday afternoon in a wooded area near Golf Side Circle, which is the same area where the suspect lives, police said.

Hickson was a teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools, but she took a part-time job as a counselor with Youth Quest Independent Living, her boyfriend, Darrell Close, told News4.

"She was a loved person. She loved everyone and she lived life," Close said. "She really cared about children and looking - trying to keep them safe and out of harms way. She was a selfless person."

In April, Lopez's body was discovered near a drainage ditch in the area of Cotton Mill Drive and Griffith Avenue in Woodbridge -- not far from where Hickson's body was found, police said. Lopez was reported missing a few days before.

Close said he asked Hickson to leave the counseling program after learning of Lopez's death.

"When she learned about it and I learned about it, I asked her to leave... several times."

Dorsey has been charged with two counts of murder and is being held without bond. He has a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 3.

Youth Quest Independent Living is a program affiliated with Richmond-based Intercept Youth Services.
