An engineer who worked on Apple's iPhone X has reportedly been let go after his daughter filmed a hands-on demo of the latest tech gadget and posted her footage on YouTube — a video that swiftly rose to YouTube's trending list before being taken down at Apple's request.
YouTuber Brooke Amelia Peterson, who was visiting her father at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, filmed her father using the iPhone X to pay for a meal inside a company cafeteria. Peterson's father then handed her the phone and she promptly showed off some of its features, such as its fresh design, new camera and Animoji feature, which brings emojis to life using facial recognition.
Peterson thought she was creating a "little, innocent" video that was intended to be a "fun memory of me and my family," but that's not how the story ended, she said in a follow-up YouTube video.
"Apple let [my father] go," Peterson said in her second video. "At the end of the day, when you work for Apple it doesn't matter how good of a person you are, if you break a rule, they just have no tolerance."

Peterson noted that her family is not upset with Apple and that her father takes full responsibility for the "innocent mistake."
"We're not angry," Peterson said. "We're not bitter. My dad had a really great run at Apple and he appreciates that company for everything that they did for his career. My dad's going to be OK."
