Apple's Match Released Prior to Google's Push

Ideally, Match would have been out the door already, but the iCloud service has finally launched today.

A new version of iTunes prompts users on how to get their music and other content into iCloud, to be accessed from their other devices via iOS 5. The feature creates duplicate copies of users' files and costs $24.99 a year.

The company servers were overwhelmed, according to paidcontent.org, requiring Apple to temporarily halt new subscriptions.

Apple's self-imposed deadline was Oct. 31, but what's a couple of weeks among fan boys?
