5 Students Hurt When Bounce House-Like Inflatable Is Thrown by Wind Gust

The inflatable reportedly lifted about 20 feet into the air and traveled more than 240 feet

A strong wind gust threw a large inflatable similar to a bounce house into the air in rural Washington state on Wednesday, leaving five high school students injured, NBC News reported.

The nature and extent of the five Zillah High School students' injuries was unclear, the school said in a statement. The incident took place during an event for the school's student body.

The inflatable lifted about 20 feet into the air and traveled more than 240 feet, the Yakima Herald-Republic reported.

The school said it was investigating the incident.
