Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Wedding “Soon”

According to Pitt, the "time is nigh" for the celebrity couple to tie to the knot.

After months of speculation, it looks like the celebrity wedding audiences have been waiting for may not be too far away. So says the prospective groom, Brad Pitt.

"The time is nigh," Pitt told People during the premiere of his new film "Killing Them Softly" Monday night in New York. "It's soon. I got a good feeling about it."

Pitt, 48, and fiancee Angelina Jolie, 37, thrilled fans when they announced their engagement in April of this year, with speculation over the actual wedding date rife ever since. And as much as their fans wish to see the couple tie the knot, it's their six children who are really putting the pressure on mom and dad to walk down the aisle.

"I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come," Pitt said. Earlier in the day the actor told E! News that, "We didn't realize how much it meant to them and then, in getting engaged, how much it also means to us."

The couple spent much of the summer and early fall of 2012 in the U.K., with Jolie filming the fantasy movie "Maleficent," and Pitt filming "World War Z," a futuristic zombie action flick.

Though Pitt and his bride-to-be continue to advocate for same sex marriage (he famously said they would never wed until all couples were granted the same right), the appeal of finally getting hitched is evident to the actor.

"We've had a family, we've raised the kids," Pitt said to People. "I am surprised how much [marriage] meant to me once you had that."
