Brown, Frugality and the Taco Truck

In a campaign, even small things send messages. Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown wants to emphasize he's frugal. Which is why it's noteworthy that his campaign is not providing food for reporters covering his election night party in Oakland.

Reporters are grabbing food, instead, from a taco truck parked nearby. Journalists are Twittering about this. Which helps Brown. (Meg Whitman's primary night spread, for the record, is one of the nicest I've ever encountered at an event).
