California Governor Denies Parole for Manson Family Member.

California Gov. Jerry Brown Friday denied parole for Bruce Davis, the Manson family member. Davis was given a life sentence for two murders the cult carried out in 1969. Denying Davis parole reverses the decision made by a California parole board last October that found him eligible for release after his 27th parole hearing. Although Brown commended Davis for earning degrees and leading counseling groups while in prison, he said "As our Supreme Court has acknowledged, in rare circumstances, a murder is so heinous that it provides evidence of current dangerousness by itself." The governor wrote in his six-page decision, "This is such a case."
