Fiat Chrysler is recalling nearly 703,000 SUVs and minivans to fix defective ignition switches that can unexpectedly shut off the engine, Reuters reported Saturday. The automaker is recalling Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country minivans from model years 2008 to 2010, as well as Dodge Journey SUVs from 2009 to 2010, according to documents posted Friday by U.S. safety regulators. Fiat Chrysler said road conditions or a "jarring event" can jolt the ignition switches into the "off" or "accessory" position, turning off the engine and disabling air bags, power steering and power brakes.
