Dallas police are investigating a triple-homicide at an East Dallas apartment where the bodies of a woman and two children were found Monday after police say a man confessed to killing his family.

Dallas police Deputy Chief Reuben Ramirez described the scene at the Rosemont at Ash Creek apartments as "a horrific incident" after investigators found the bodies of a woman and her two teenage children inside their home along with a gun and several shell casings.

Dallas police Deputy Chief Reuben Ramirez confirmed in a news conference Monday afternoon that a man called 911 and told operators that he shot his family.

During a news conference Monday afternoon, Ramirez said the suspect, later identified as James Lee Webb, called 911 and told operators that he shot his family.

When officers arrived a short time later, Webb surrendered without incident and was taken to police headquarters to be interviewed.

According to an arrest warrant, Webb agreed to speak with detectives without an attorney and said he and his wife woke up at about 10 a.m. and that he had a headache. He said they began arguing because she and the teenagers were being "too loud."

The woman was identified in the arrest warrant affidavit as Victoria Bunton, estimated to be in her 50s. The names of her two sons, ages 16 and 13, have not yet been released.

Web reportedly told detectives he was tired of the victims yelling and telling him there was nothing wrong with him, so he said he then took out a gun and shot Bunton at least twice before killing both of the children.

"The suspect waited an hour and then contacted 911 through his emergency medical alert device and told them what he did," the warrant stated.

Dallas police are investigating the deaths of three people, including two teenagers. Police say a man called 911 claiming to have killed his family. NBC 5’s Jack Highberger reports the man turned himself in and has the latest from East Dallas.

After the interview Monday night, Webb was charged with capital murder.

Tuesday morning Webb was transferred to the Dallas County Jail and ordered held on $3 million bond. If convicted, Webb faces either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

“Last time I saw her (victim) she was getting the groceries out of the car and the boys were helping her and you would never think he would do that," said neighbor Chanel Lockhart.

Police records showed no history of calls to the family's residence.
