Instead, the cast of Broadway's "American Idiot" will take the stage.

According to MTV News, a spokesperson for ABC reported that the network was "interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked." The Canadian rapper's rep mentioned that there was a "booking in place" but failed to give any detailed information regarding the cancellation.

According to the New York Daily News, ABC decided to go a different route after "NYPD told the city Parks Department that parks' security plan wasn't up to snuff."

It was only a month ago that Drake's free concert at New York's South Street Seaport was cancelled when over 10,000 riotous fans unexpectedly arrived at the concert grounds.

It's rumored that the NYPD decided to pull the plug on Drizzy's "GMA" stage appearance after the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation predicted they wouldn't be able to provide adequate security to the rapper and concertgoers. According to MTV News, The parks' department rep has neither confirmed nor denied whether security issues factored in to the cancellation of Drake's performance.
