Company Does Not Want ESPN Reporter Britt McHenry Suspended After Rant

ESPN suspended reporter Britt McHenry after a video of a foul-mouthed rant of her criticizing a parking lot attendant surfaced Thursday.

However, the company said in a statement that they have no interest in seeing McHenry suspended or terminated for her comments, claiming that parking enforcement is "contentious by nature."

"Ms. McHenry is our neighbor, and, as she said, to paraphrase, made remarks that were out of line. She is human and errors in judgement can be made in the heat of the moment," the Advanced Towing Company statement read. "Gina is a single mother of three children who works a difficult job to provide for her family. Gina Holds no ill will towards Ms. McHenry."

The video emerged on LiveLeak showing McHenry criticizing a parking lot attendant's looks and education.

"I'm in the news sweetheart, I will f--king sue this place," she said.

She continues her rant against the employee (not visible), criticizing her appearance and her job.

"Lose some weight, baby girl" and "So I could be a college dropout and do the same thing?" she is heard saying. She also accused the attendant of not having a brain.

"Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me huh?" she asks. "'Cause they look so stunning...'Cause I'm on television and you're in a f--king trailer, honey."

ESPN confirmed Thursday had suspended McHenry for a week. The reporter also took to Twitter to apologize for the incident.

"In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake," McHenry said in a tweet.
