A child and two adults were injured after an explosion that destroyed part of a smoke tower at a private school in Baltimore County, Maryland, fire officials said.
The Baltimore County Fire Department responded Wednesday morning to reports of an explosion at the McDonogh School campus in Owings Mills. All students are accounted for and safe, the school said in a statement on their website.
Chopper4 video from the scene shows the broken top of the tower adjacent to the Allan Building. The ground around it was littered with rubble. Firefighters say a shot tower and a boiler room were also damaged.

Firefighters were checking on the stability of the building. The school says the campus has been deemed safe by first responders.
The child and one adult were taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Students were dismissed early.
The school serves students in pre-K through 12th grade.
