Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed Finally Set a Date

After 28 years, KISS rocker Gene Simmons and actress Shannon Tweed have finally set a date.

On October 1 - three days before their reality series "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" kicks off its seventh season, not coincidentally - the pair who have been a couple whose relationship has lasted nearly three decades and produced two children will say their "I dos."

Just a few months ago, it looked as though the volatile relationship would more likely end than take the next step, when the couple appeared on "Today" to discuss Simmons' alleged dalliances with younger women.

Instead, season six of "Family Jewels" ended with Simmons proposing to Tweed while the pair vacationed in Belize.

"I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love," said Simmons. The actress teared up before finally saying yes.

The wedding - which is sure to be star-studded - will take place at the Beverly Hills hotel.

We just hope no one snickers when Simmons is told he "may now kiss the bride."
