Apple and Google finally have something they can agree upon.
The tech giants and sometime rivals both support a plan the US House of Representatives to overhaul the U.S. patent system.
The proposed changes would put the US system in line with the filing systems used by other countries, which in theory could make it for the likes of Google and Apple to push their many patents through the filing process.
Currently companies are forced to wait sometimes protracted periods as the patent office deals with application backlogs.
A final vote on proposed overhauls could come as early as this week.
