Google Teams Up With Intel

Google is teaming up Intel to put a bigger dent in the smartphone market.

The Mountain View-based company announced it will develop software to run on Intel's next generation mobile microchips.

Google says it will optimize its Android software to run on Intel's Atom processors, which are now mostly used in laptop computers.

The search giant's Android-powered cell phones already own about 43 percent of the global cell phone market.
