3 Sets of Twins Born Within 24 Hours at Hudson Valley Hospital

Three sets of twins were born less than 24 hours apart this week at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt, marking the most twin deliveries in so short a time span at the Westchester County hospital in recent memory, hospital officials said Friday.

The six babies were born between 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and 11:18 a.m. Wednesday.

Parents Leeah and Brodie Hoyer welcomed the first set, Viggo and Cormac, Tuesday afternoon. Viggo was born at 2:15 p.m. and Cormac joined him nine minutes later.

Twin girls Avery and Savanah were born next on Wednesday morning to parents Jacqueline and Kieran Millar of Cortlandt Manor. Avery was born at 8:06 a.m. and Savanah was born at 8:07 a.m.

“[I’m] definitely nervous, but very excited that they’re here,” Jacqueline Millar said.

The third set of twins was born hours later to parents Marie Giron and Herbert Martinez of Cortlandt Manor. Dulce Maria was born at 11:17 a.m. and Luisa Guadalupe was born at 11:18 a.m.

“To have three that came within a 24-hour time span, that’s really unusual and I think caught everybody by surprise,” said OBGYN physician Megan Pierce.

Another set of twins was born at the hospital last week, breaking the record for twins born at HVHC within a week. Amanda and Emma were born Nov. 26 to parents Stephanie and Steven Cangialosi of Peekskill.

The hospital says only seven sets of twins have been born there this year, including the four sets born this December.
