iPhone 5 Already Has a Line of Buyers

If there was any doubt that Apple has a grip on the consumer, just look at a recent survey of Americans.

A new survery by Experian’s PriceGrabber division found that 35 percent of consumers plan to purchase an iPhone 5 when it is released.

A whopping 51 percent of those polled said they will buy the yet-to-be-released phone within its first year of existence.

As far as consumers are concerned, the iPhone 5 is little more than a twinkle in Steve Jobs' eye at this point.

“Our survey data confirms the strong following Apple has built around its iPhone, with more than one-third of consumers planning to upgrade to the latest model only a little over a year following the release of the iPhone 4,” PriceGrabber general manager Graham Jones explained.

Of course there are rumors about what the next version of the Apple smartphone might look like and what it might feature but then there are also rumors that there will be an updated version of the iPhone 4 before a new iPhone 5 is introduced.

The survey interviewed 2,852 Americans who have no doubt heard some of the rumors. Of those surveyed, the No. 1 change they want to see on the iPhone 5: a lower sticker price.
