Most iPhone 5cs will be selling for $99 for a two-year contract, but both Target and Walmart are offering the colorful plastic phones for $79, according to reports.
Walmart was the first to offer the $79 pricetag on preorders, according to 9to5Mac, but Target followed soon after. (Target REDcard holders can also receive an extra 5 percent discount.) Both stores will sell the models as well as the $199 32GB models.
Reports say that most retail outlets will be short of iPhone 5s, perhaps because Apple would rather have shortages than packages of iPhones sitting on the shelves. If this is the case, buyers may be able to find an iPhone 5c at Target or Walmart.
