One man has been arrested and authorities are searching for several others after an alleged attack on a 60-year-old man with a cane at an MBTA stop in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.
The victim, who asked to be identified as "Alex," says he has a disability and uses his cane to get around.
"They hurt me, and I did everything I could do to go against them," he said.
Transit police said the attack happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Ashmont T Station when a group of men allegedly "viciously assaulted" and robbed the man. Authorities said the assault happened after a verbal exchange.
Authorities said the group of men "ripped the cane from the victim’s hand," which caused him to fall.
Security footage of the attack showed about eight men near the victim, who appears to be sitting on the ground. One man rips the cane from his hand, causing him to fall down. He lay helplessly while being kicked, stomped and robbed.
"This was a vulnerable individual who was defenseless," a prosecutor said in court Thursday.

Another suspect, prosecutors say, appears to pull out what police believe is a gun.
Police said the first man who kicked the victim was identified as 47-year-old Julius Tolbert of Hyde Park. Tolbert was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person 60 or older. He was released on $300 bail.
A defense attorney for Tolbert argued against the increased bail.
"He does have a wife of six years. He just recently found out he's expecting another child," the defense attorney said in court.
Prosecutors argued for a higher bail, saying Tolbert just got out of jail for stalking. He also allegedly has a history of violence on humans and animals.
On the conditions of his bail, Tolbert must stay away from the victim and not loiter at the Ashmont T stop.
Tolbert is due back in court on Dec. 2 for a pre-trial hearing.
Authorities continue to search for the other two suspects involved in the assault.
