Mel Gibson to Appear in “The Hangover 2”

Mel Gibson's Hollywood career isn't over after all: He's set to appear in the sequel to "The Hangover."

Gibson will play a Bangkok tattoo artist in the upcoming flick, which will star Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, according to the New York Post. Gibson's cameo role is a far cry from the leading man parts he's accustomed to, but then again, a lot of people had written him off completely after his hideously public breakup with baby mama Oksana Grigorieva.

"It's a done deal," a source told the Post. "Mel will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October."
The role will be Gibson's first new one since his personal life imploded. Tapes leaked by Radar Online appear to have an unhinged Gibson launching racist and threatening tirades against Grigorieva. Grigorieva alleged in a restraining order filed June 25 that Gibson punched her in the face "more than once" during a Jan. 6 incident at his Malibu home, breaking a tooth, knocking out a veneer and causing a concussion.
The tapes also include Gibson lamenting that his career is in the tank and his fortune, once estimated at nearly $1 billion, was depleted.
