Mom Donates 131 Gallons of Breast Milk to Honor Late Son

After losing her baby, a mother donated 131 gallons of breast milk

This week is the annual world breast-feeding week and one Nebraska woman has gone above and beyond to help other new moms and babies.

Demi Frandsen of Omaha has donated 17,503 ounces or 131 gallons of breast milk to a local breast milk bank, where it will be used to help sick babies who are hospitalized, reported NBC affiliate WOWT

Frandsen decided to donate her milk after her 10 month-old son Leo died of health complications.

"We're still trying to figure out how to have a life without such a big part of it...a little piece of our soul," said Frandsen.

After his death, Demi found it in her heart to give to others.

"He was worth it. He was worth all of this. His life in 10 months was the best 10 months of mine," said Frandsen.
