An American airline bound for Miami from New York's JFK airport had to make an about-face after seats on the plane became loose. It was the second such incident in three days. American Airlines Flight 443 left Kennedy at 7:11 a.m. and was back there by 8:18 am officials said. Passengers were loaded onto another plane, which took off about three hours later and landed safely in Miami that afternoon. On Saturday, a Boston-to-Miami flight made an emergency landing in New York when passengers reported a row of seats that became loose. An initial internal investigation found that there may have been an issue with a certain model of seats. Both planes were Boeings 757s. Engineers, tech crew chiefs and inspectors from the company's Tusla maintenance base were flown into New York to evaluate eight other aircraft that might have the same issue, the company said. The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating.
