Carrie Ann Inaba Gets Engaged on “Regis & Kelly”

What a surprise! Carrie Ann Inaba left the set of "Regis and Kelly" with a rock on her finger Thursday morning.

The "Dancing with the Stars" judge was proposed to on the ABC talk show by long-time boyfriend Jesse Sloan while she was covering for host Kelly Ripa.

At the beginning of the show, Inaba had played down rumors that she was engaged to her beau of two years, People reports. Show guest Jake Gyllenhaal brought up the topic again by presenting the 43-year-old dancer with a mock engagement ring.

But Inaba was about to get a real one. At the very end of the show, Regis presented a fake viewer's question on how he should propose to his girlfriend. Lights dimmed, violinists appeared, and Sloan, 39, came on camera.

"Will you marry me?" he asked, presenting her with the sparkler. People reported it was a 2 1/2-carat, D-color, princess-cut diamond solitaire ring in platinum from Rafinity that contained both the bride and groom's birthstones.

And Inaba's response? "Yes, I will marry you" she said with a teary eye. At the end of the show, Gyllenhaal and guest Howie Mandel gathered with Regis and the couple for a champagne toast.

It seems like everyone but Inaba was in on the stunt. "Don't miss the HUGE surprise for Carrie Ann Inaba!!!!" read the show's official Twitter account, @Regis_and_Kelly, midshow.

Inaba has spoken about having a summer wedding before. She told Prevention magazine that "we want everyone to jump in the water with us after our vows."
