Child Welfare Agency: Casey Anthony Failed to Protect Caylee

Casey Anthony’s 2-year-old daughter Caylee died as a result of her mom’s “failure to protect” her, Florida’s child welfare agency said Thursday. In a Department of Children and Families report to close out its investigation of Caylee Anthony’s death, Casey Anthony was blamed for not reporting her daughter’s disappearance for more than a month. "The inactions by the mother were clearly failure to protect. As the child was found dead, obviously the failure to protect led to the death," DCF spokesman Joe Follick told the AP. Still, the report did not conclude what killed Caylee and her mom won’t face more charges as a result of the agency’s findings, according to the AP. Anthony has remained in hiding since being acquitted last month of charges she murdered her daughter.
